One of two main roads that cuts across the island of Ko Lanta. There are plenty of cars and trucks on the island but the main modes of transport are motorbikes and motorbike taxis with sidecars.

Trees grow straight out of the limestone cliffs of Ko Ha. Ko Ha is a group of five (ha means five in Thai) small islands off the west coast of Ko Lanta.

Two squid boats anchor off of Ko Lanta during the day. The fishermen sleep during the day and fish for squid at night using the lights to attract the squid. During the night from the beaches of Ko Lanta you can see the lights of the squid boats dotting the horizon.

Thailand is the world’s largest exporter of natural rubber, and in 2010 rubber surpassed rice as Thailand’s top agricultural export. A strip of bark is cut from the rubber trees and then the sap drips down into a cup. Every five days the rubber is collected from the cups and a new strip of bark is cut.

In Shanghai China, commuting from the outer sprawling towns usually requires a local train, then a major inter-city train, then an internal subway, followed by a short walk.
Ben, a fisherman on Ko Lanta, walks out to a long tail boat for a night of fishing. Each day Ben waits on the beach for his two fellow fisherman to pick him up. They then head out to sea and fish until the next morning.

Same Same but Different - Rock

An American rock and roll cover band puts on a performance on the streets of Barcelona, Spain. These guys played to a packed street until 4 am.
Rocks are piled high into stacks on a tiny uninhabited island near Ko Lipe in the south of Thailand. Some say that superstitious Thais stack rocks in this manner because if the rock piles stay standing for a long time that translates to a long life. Others explain that the stacks are meant to ward off ghosts and evil spirits.
